• Forgive yourself—right now, this second. What you did wasn’t wrong; it was an innocent mistake.
• Consider that every. single. person. ever. has embarrassed themselves—multiple times.
• Tell others about your awkward or embarrassing moment, and ask for theirs. You’ll laugh about them, and then you’ll start shrinking the power of those memories. Bye-bye shame! That awkward moment when you say "bye"; then you both keep walking in the same direction . . .
That awkward moment when you’re staring off into space and some random boy thinks you’re looking at him . . .
